Leadership Conference
For four years now, Maytree has hosted a conference which brings together leaders from the GTA and beyond to discuss current issues that are relevant not only to our mandate but to the work of others in the sector.
Our 2008 conference tackled the question: What does it mean to belong? To view highlights from this and previous conferences, view the archives.
The 2009 conference will be held on Thursday, October 1.
Our conference theme this year is Telling Stories; Creating Change with keynote speaker John Cruickshank, publisher of The Toronto Star.
Join Toronto’s leaders and explore the universal power of storytelling, the art of creating compelling stories and using individual and organizational narratives as powerful tools for change.
Workshops will include: Online Communities and Offline Action, The Seven Laws of Storytelling, Building Public Narrative, From the Front Lines to the Front Page and Expanding Reach and Leveraging Impact.
The day will end with a tenth-year celebration of Maytree’s scholarship program along with a publication including policy recommendations from Peter Showler of The Refugee Forum at the University of Ottawa.
Watch for registration and workshop details on this page and in the August issue of the Maytree newsletter!
